Luxury vinyl FAQ
Is luxury vinyl really waterproof?
Most LVP lines we carry have a waterproof core, so the planks themselves aren't damaged by water. Standing water can still find the subfloor at the edges, so wipe up big spills and fix leaks quickly.
How is LVP different from sheet vinyl?
LVP comes as individual planks or tiles with a realistic texture and a thicker, tougher build. Sheet vinyl is one continuous roll. It's seamless and budget-friendly, and we install both.
Is it good with dogs and cats?
It's one of the best choices for pets. The wear layer resists scratches, and accidents wipe right up. A thicker wear layer, measured in mils, holds up best in busy homes.
Can it go in a basement?
Yes. Luxury vinyl is a favorite for basements because it handles concrete slabs and occasional moisture. We check the slab and prep it properly before we install.
Can you install it over my existing floor?
Often, yes, as long as the existing floor is flat, solid and well bonded. We'll check at your free estimate and tell you whether anything needs to come up first.
